Review: Regatta Samaris III Women's Walking Boots

Reviewed: 2026-02-24

The Samaris III is a lightweight budget walking boot. They are synthetic material rather than leather and consequently available in a broader range of colours including a rather groovy pink and violet.

The boots are definitely waterproof (their first outing was through puddles) and comfortable (now). However, being slightly softer material than the leather Burrell boots, we did find that on very first day, the boots developed an awkward crease which was a bit uncomfortable initially. After a couple of hours of use, this had worked itself out. Just be aware that, ironically more so than the leather boots, these might need a couple of hours of light "breaking-in" before their first long hike. Ever since they have been fine.

The soles are not Vibram but use Regatta's own sole technology. Our experience of ending up on our arse in every pair of boots we've owned that have had Vibram soles suggests this might be a GOOD THING. We've used these across the same terrain as HiTec Eurohikes on the same day and the Samaris grip is definitely superior.

We'll update the review once they've had another season or two of wear to see how they last, but so far, so good.
