Explore Tintagel as a self-guided outdoor escape room. Explore some of the historic sites in Tintagel while solving a mystery based in the legend of Camelot. Use the app to solve the puzzles and unlock directions of a walking route that will lead you to recover Arthur's lost sword.

The Story

Join Merlin and Lady Guinevere on a quest to find King Arthur's sword, before the Saxons invade. Solve puzzles and decipher clues to track down the missing sword. This is a fun and immersive adventure that will challenge your wits and imagination, while exploring Tintagel's historic sites.

  • Includes a short section of footpath where the surface is exposed bedrock which could be slippery after rain.

Gradients

Mid-way around the walk, there's a fairly short climb on the lane. After the walk there's a moderately steep climb for about 1/2 mile (which can be bypassed using a landrover service).

For each one, there is a story with an overall mystery to solve. To do this, you solve puzzles to unlock each direction of a walking route.

The puzzles also gradually build up a set clues to solve the overall mystery when the end of the walk is reached.

The puzzles are designed for adults although children may enjoy helping to spot clues and helping to solve some of the easier ones.

A mystery typically takes around 3 hours to complete. It's not a race so you can take your time, take photos, stop for refreshments etc. and have a nice day out.

Once a mystery has been downloaded, it runs completely offline using GPS with no need for a phone signal or data/internet connection (it's Cornwall-proof).
