The Clock Tower
The large round chimney with an octagonal base dates from around the early 19th Century and is known as "the clock tower". This is because as well as doubling as a flue, the tower contained a clockwork mechanism which would ring a bell at the end of a shift. There was a staircase within the tower leading up to a wooden floor.
