The Storm Tower
A coastguard watch tower (known as "The Storm Tower" or "The Pepperpot") was built at Compass Point by the Acland family in 1840. It is built of local sandstone and based on the Temple of Winds in Athens. In 1900 it was moved inland as the location where it was originally built was being eroded. In 2024 it was moved further inland for the same reason.
