Crowan to Clowance Estate

A circular walk in the parish of Crowan from the church to the Clowance Estate - the mansion of the St Aubyn Baronets until the fifth Baronet failed to produce a legitimate heir due to his 15 children all being born to women not married to him.

OS Explorer maps are a useful addition for navigating around any temporary obstacles or short-cutting routes, bearing in mind that in Cornwall, some paths shown on the OS maps are obstructed, non-existent or don't correspond to the actual location of the path on the ground.

OS Landranger maps are not recommended as these don't show field boundaries, making it very difficult to locate paths (waymarking in Cornwall is often very poor once you venture off the coast path).
